I can find the guidelines for storing milk online, but does anyone know if I need to freeze it right away.

I was storing it in the fridge, but we're not really using it, so figured it would be better frozen for when I finally manage a night out.

I have a bottle in the fridge that was expressed on the 2nd, so it's still useable, but do you think I can still freeze it??!

I freeze it on the day it's pumped. Dunno if that's the rule tho.

I probably wouldnt risk it, I would only freeze on the same day but then I dont even leave it in the fridge for more than a day!

I try to freeze as soon as possible, just to have peace of mind. They do say it's best to freeze as soon as you can.

I'm gonna start doing that. Guess I'm just grudging throwing out a full bottle!! Lol. Xxx

I LOATHE throwing away even a drop of breastmilk!

You could give the stuff in the fridge this evening and then express straight after the bottle feed and freeze that. I can't bear to waste a drop either!

It's when he refuses the last 20 or so ml in the bottle and I have to chuck it away that really gets to me - that's a whole sandwich worth of calories I had to force feed myself, you little beast, LOL!

Sorry but I believe you need to freeze milk straight away xx

Now that's a good plan. Wish I'd read this before I put her on the boob, might do it in the morning, cos I'll be full then.

It's a blooming 4oz bottle as well, do not just a little bit!!!

Personally I would freeze at the time of pumping unless it's going to be drunk either that day or the next. Guidelines do say breast milk can be stored in the fridge at 0-4 degrees for five days, but it is at its best straight away, so why wait to freeze it? Freeze it when it's at its best!

Not gonna wait again, but I'd left this cos I was having difficulty feeding, but now we're more settled its just not been used.
