Does any1 know what ur combined income has to b under wen claiming tax credits in order to get free prescriptions??

not a clue actually! i know we get free prescriptions for a year once baby is born, direct.gov got anything on it? x

Yeah,it's just that me and dh got tax credit medical exemption cards thru today, wasn't expectin them and since tax credits never sent me an award notice out,I'm not sure y we've got them. I've rung tax Cred and they're sendin a notice out but knowin them otl take weeks and it'd b nice to know if we qualify for other stuff (free school meals, healthy start vouchers etc) from my calculations we earnt too much last year by about 1500 but still intrigued as to y we've got the free prescriptions, wondered if the threshold was higher xx

ooh that is interesting!! defo look into other qualifying things then, cool! x

All new mum's are entitled to free precriptions - for the whole of you pregnancy and up to your child turning one. I got mine through my doctors. When I went to discuss my pregnancy, I filled a form in and got my card through the post.

Ring your doctor and find out how you can get one! xx

As far as I knew it was under about £16000 a year. If they haven't dont it by mistake, and you can keep it, you get free prescriptions, dental and opticians.
Dental covers all NHS stuff, so free crowns/fillings etc. Opticians includes free check up, and MAJORLY discounted glasses
