Ok, this is the second time G has gone on a nursing strike, and this one seems to be lasting a bit longer (we're onto day 2.)

Im hoping she'll go back on the breast but I think I'm gonna have to have formula available just in case.

So I have a few questions -

How much does/did your LO take per feed at 3months??

How do u make the feeds up - do you keep cooled water in bottles and just add powder to it when needed??

Also I have closer to nature bottles, but a different brand steriliser therefore can only fit 3bottles in it at once - would you continue to use closer to nature as they are meant to be similar to the breast, or the bottles that go with the steriliser - these are a random brand from tkmax (mebby)

Also, any other tips/things I might need to know?!

Xxx

If she drinks happily from those bottles, I'd stay with them otherwise you might cause more issues. Can you not have a look on e-bay for a Tommee Tipper steriliser?

The tommee tippee micro sterilizer was 10 on amazon inc del. And in Asda xx

My lo is 9 weeks and drinking 5 oz if that helps at all. I cool water and add powder and never had any problems but not everyone does and as for bottles use the ones only 3 fit in and see how it goes lo might go back to breast so you wont need more. I have been told them from tkmax are good but have never used them

Express as much as you can to keep your supply up. Are you keeping a record of when these strikes are??

well this is the 2nd one, first one was friday 11th of may. she fed fine over niight and first thing this morning, but since 10pm its been a complete no go. Im gonna express as much as i can, but equally I dont wanna be stuck to the pump not able to do things with her because im fixating on bm.

Today she had a bottle from last night (half expressed.half freeszer) while we were at signing - I expressed when we go home.

then she had some water, and the stuff i expressed when we'd got in, but then went for a walk so she got formula. have defrosted some freezer stuff, and expressed while she was asleep - shes just taken the freeer bottle - so thers 5oz in the fridge.

but also i think to start expressing at 3months, i'll struggle to get enough out for a days feed - shes taking about 6oz every 2-3hours. xxx

I make up the night bottles (2) with the formula added and pop them in the fridge. Trying to keep count of scoop fulls at stupid-o'clock is almost impossible for me xxxxxxx

At 3 months my LO had 6oz of milk and I would make her bottles up first thing in the morning and store them in the fridge x

My LO is taking apprx. 800ml over a 24 hr period. Originally had an avent microwave steriliser with tommee tippee bottles, but then decided to get a Milton cold water steriliser which I much prefer - can fit max of six bottles, which works well for me.
I make up bottles in the morning with boiled water allowed to cool slightly, then make up feeds as required. Emily will drink at room temp. So i dont reheat the water (although technically you are supposed to in order to kill bacteria in powder).

just use the 3 bottles in rotation and sterilise as needed. i make on demand and usually boil the kettle and cool the water a bit after by sticking it in the bottle and then popping the bottle in a measuring jug of cold water for a few mins then add the powder, put top on and cool some more to right temp, this gives me time to see if Alyssa wants to eat off me and to encourage my supply to keep up / increase. it means she takes less formula than if i wasnt giving boob tho so for me she will take 4 oz maybe 5 at a push but for other ppl she will take 5 or 6 oz easily of formula. ive just started defrosting my stored bm as if i dont try and use it i will have to chuck it :( and i was only hoarding it in case my supply dried up.
