Hi everyone!

We moved here a year ago and now we are expecting a baby. :)

I have no idea about things like chav names around. Also I don't know which names could cause pronounciation problems. Maybe you could help me with that.

We were thinking about the name Julius.

What would you think about a boy whose name is Julius? Any associations? Is it a common name here?

Many thanks and sorry for any language mistakes. :)

Hello Katharina - welcome to pf and congratulations!!!

That's a really unusual name I think. I have never heard of it being used other than with Julius Ceasar!
We have a common older name Julie over here for girls, but it's not commonly used for this generation of babies. I really like it.

A gorgeous name. Not that common in the UK but not completely unheard of either - most definitely not a chav name! I think it's gorgeous! xxxxx

That sounds like a fab, strong name for a boy.
It's exactly the type of name that I am hoping for - its not made up, therefore is recognisable but not at all common in this country.
Great choice!
