how the bloody hell do u get urs clean   christophers is a right mess the seat looks like it needs a bloody steam wash  but i take it they are cardboard lined  as it says "wipe clean only" :wall: i have washed the straps but how the hell do u lot keep the seat clean ???

I think I have that one, was it £90 odd from Mothercare?

I wash the straps and have been known to wash the whole seat before. It still stinks and is a right health hazard!

I hate highchairs and want to get a proper square table (have an oval at the mo with folding chairs) with those highchairs that affix to the seats.

yeah thats the one....mine stinks like a health hazzard too :rotfl: :rotfl: he was sick in it once and i have never been able to get rid of the smell :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:

what temp did u wash the seat on ???

I have put it on a at a hand wash setting in the machine.

But the best way to clean it is to do what my husband does and takes it out to the garden and uses the Car power washer on it, if you dont have that maybe a garden hose would do the trick

I may be sounding completely stupid here, but I'm going to ask this anyway as we are going to buy either the tripp trapp or the chicco polly in the next few weeks. Why do they get so dirty? I understand food ect gets dropped, but if you give them a wipe down after each meal / end of each day, surely they can't get too bad? Or does stuff just not come off them? The tripp trapp seems easier to keep clean in that case, as its a much simpler design ...

I dunno how, it just does!!! I clean it after every meal but crumbs seem to get stuck in all the "nooks and crannys"

Mine gets food in the nooks and crannies at the back of the seat and the strap that goes between their legs is always dirty, food gets into the clip bits and congeals. :puke: :puke: :puke: I hate it!

I've washed it on a handwash setting before but be aware that it took ages to dry because of the spongy bit inside.

Right, so am I going to have this problem with all high chairs??! :?

yeah im afraid so they all get yucky especially when they are feeding themselves :puke:

mine is really easy to strip off and put in washing machine though :D and it still looks like new christopher has puked all over it rubbed bolognese all over it and had the runs in it that was the worst :puke: :puke: :puke: but chuck in machine and it comes out like new :D and apparently they have been reduced in argos now to 40 pound bargain xxxxxxxx :cheer:
