For anyone with mirena coil....

Had mine fitted last Monday, no pain at all until the Wednesday night when the cramps started and I'm still getting cramping now and also the blood I'm losing is like bloody show very sticky and mucousy sorry tmi. Is this normal? To be getting cramps a week later and the blood to be like that? Xx

Im getting light bleeding on and off which my doc said could happen for a couple of months before everything settles. She did say to go back if i had any pain after the initial 48 hours following insertion as there could be a problem, so might be worth giving your doc a call if it doesn't settle.

I bled on and off for about 6 weeks. It wasn't constant blood though just like on and off. And some of it was quite mucasy looking. Mine settled down and everything was fine at my 6 week check xxx

It was about 3 weeks for me. Doc wanted to leave it for a few weeks as hubby and i had been dtd and she needed to be sure i wasnt pregnant again She told me to abstain until i had it fitted (hubbys face lol) and then did a pg test just before she put it in.

I phoned my family planning clinic on the Tuesday and had it fitted on the Thursday because there was a cancellation. But the waiting list was 8 weeks xxx
