Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice about food to avoid on holiday abroad, in particular in Menorca? We're going away for a week on an all inclusive deal but am a little anxious about what I should/shouldn't eat...
I've just been following the nhs guidelines here but unsure if these apply to other countries. E.g. Cold meats I don't have any problem eating in uk, but don't know if this applies to meats in other countries? Is it only safe in uk due to the production process? Or is the risk small everywhere?
Same with cheeses. There is a very common cheese in menorca called Queso de Mahon and it can either be pasteurised or unpasteurised. From what I gather, the texture is similar to Edam and some is as hard as Parmesan, so as it's always a hard (ish) cheese, I think it's ok to eat whether it's pasteurised or not? Is that right?
And obviously, being all inclusive, it's going to be buffet-tastic and we're advised to eat food that hasn't been kept warm for ages. Does anyone have any tips?
I know I probably sound like a right worrier, but I think I'll enjoy holiday much more if I feel confident about the food side of things, so am trying to plan before I go!
Thanks if ou can help xx
