Fluid intakes 17 months+

was just wondering what your LO are or were drinking (milk/juice/water) at maddi's age?

i'm such a worrier that she doesn't drink enough

currently she has 2-3 x7ox milk plus 1/2 beakers (360 cup) of water or juice, i'm so petrified of her getting dehydrated!

Sam goes through phases of drinking loads (about 6 beakers of water/dilute squash and a couple of big cups/bottles of milk) and then some days he'll have 2 lots of milk and maybe a cup or 2 of water... I think she'd let you know if she was dehydrated though - if she's not having heavy nappies or her wee is very yellow I'd be more worried but what she's having sounds like enough, especially as it's cold at the moment so theyr'e not losing so much fluid by sweating etc x

Hebe has 6oz ish of milk with her breakkie and 9oz ish before bed. Then she just has water on the go all day. I dont really know what she drinks but she always drinks well with meals. She'll take a bite then a drink....I think it's really sweet....

I was the same i always worried Amelia wasn't drinking enough especially at nursery.

I think she may even drink a little too much, she has 16oz of milk per day plus probably 2 pints of water during the day.

Today she is feeling unwell and has drunk quite a lot...probably 4 of these plus beakers with lunch
we use this kinda 'cup'

After i tried her with this she drinks a lot more, if you are concerned maybe try a new type of cup? One that she can just pick up as and when she wants it. I must admit i do prompt Amelia to have juice during the day otherwise she forgets and will keep playing.

Hebe drinks loads more from a straw than a sippy.

Sam does too if he's got a cup he likes - with a straw he seems to just keep going until it's empty so we use an Avent Magic Cup most of the time now

thanks guys, we have one of though cups with a straw, i shall give it another go, but she does love her 360 cup think i shall just keep offering even more! i'm sure i'm being over worried, but i'd prefer to be like that! lol thanks guys! x
