At my booking in I was told about the flu jab and how it's totally my decision on having it.
I don't pick things up, my husband has a cold every other week it feels like thru winter, but I never catch it.
But with him bringing home germs all the time am I wise to have the jab as my natural defence will be lower than normal?
Is anyone feeling the same as me? Unsure? Or am I being silly and shouldn't even be having doubts?

i always used to gt the flu, then i got the jab the first time i was pregnant and ever since and havent had it once. personally, i wouldn't hesitate in having it but that's just me.

I have a crap immune system so i have the jab most winters.
Spent one year when i didnt with the flu over xmas and new year in bed :(

Got my booked for this Thurs x

I get the flu jab every year, I get it at work.

Each time I have been pregnant I have had chest infections because my immune system sucks when pregnant, but when not pregnant I get a cold once a year, every September LOL

Its better to be safe than sorry imo.

xxxx

I've had my flu jab when I was 4 weeks they were taking my blood and said should we give you flu jab whilst your here I was like yes please.

Before i was pregnant never ever got a cold or the flu, my oh could have real man flu and i wouldnt catch it, lol.
However i had a nasty cold at 22 weeks that turned into a chest infection and another one 5-6 weeks later that also went onto my chest, i have never felt so ill and it took me a good 3 weeks to shift both!
I had the flu jab 10 days ago as it was the earliest i was able to get it, i would strongly recommend u do have it as i am proof that your immune system is totally rubbish while pregnant no matter how good it was before! X

Thank you ladies, I will book an appointment soon. X

I got it as it passes through the placenta to baby for immunity x

The flu jab will only protect you from the strain its been developed for so if your husband is bringing new germs home regularly it won't protect you from them all. My immune system actually seems to be better durning pregnancy but some women find they catch things easier.

I was advised to get it too ive had it once about 14yrs ago an it made me ill but i think il get it with being pregnant tho mot just now as on antibiotics for a chest infection xx

I am 7.1 weeks and had my flu jab last Wednesday. I always get ill and working in a school everything goes around. They say it's safe to have at any point in pregnancy and it's getting to winter and already colds are going around. I would say if your going to have it you should do it soon. Also if you was to catch flu when pregnant it can cause still born and lots of other things.
Ask your self is it worth it....
Xx
