Flu Jab :(

Ok so i thought seen as though i'm preggers i really ought to book in for the lovely flu vaccination!!
Who else has had theirs?
Just a bit weary as everyone i have spoke to about having it done has said "Oh yeah you will end up getting a bit of flu!" lovely, just what i need, as if i dont feel shocking enough!!

I've never had it cooz I used to have an egg allergy as a kid and it's derived from chickens or something? So I was always told not to have it 'just in case'. They now have a different one that they are trialing for people with egg allergies, but I said errr no ta thanks very much lol

I think that it gives you a bit of flu to help build immunity is a myth? Not 100% on that, but sure I heard a professional say that?!

I had the flu jab a few weeks ago and have been absolutely fine, I think it must just be different for everyone xx

I had flu jab last month and had no problems at all, its not a live vaccine so will not give you the flu xxx

I've had the flu jab before, didn't get any flu symptoms just an arm that felt a bit bruised and heavy to lift, but then I het that with any injection

I had mine a week or so ago and the nurse told me I might have a sore arm and a runny nose for a couple of days, tbh I didn't have either xxx

I had mine a few weeks ago. I didn't have any flu symptoms but my arm was really sore for days afterwards x

I had mine a couple of weeks ago and had a bit of an achey arm for a couple of days but was fine apart from that. You can't get flu from it x

I've had the jab twice now and haven't had any bad side effects. Your arm might feel a bit sore for a few days but that's all I had. I feel safer knowing I've had it. By the way you do need to ring the doctors to book it.

Glad to see this thread as I am getting mine on Friday too, had to wait a few weeks for an appt and caught the cold inbetween, that I can say was not enjoyable, with feeling sick and nothing tasting right, don't want that again!

got mine booked tomorrow, the nurse told me last time it doesn't give you flu as its not a live vaccine. Thats aload of bollocks. They said it can give you a dead arm and thats about it x

No symptoms for me and it didn't hurt either - they put it in my shoulder so it was just like a pin prick. xx

Hello! I had mine yesterday afternoon. All I've got now is a sore upper arm, like I've done too much exercise. Some people react quite badly to it, but I find that most people are fine. It's up to you if you want to take the risk of catching flu - perhaps it depends on if you're out and about a lot, and in contact with lots of people all the time? I work from home, so the risk is low, but if you are constantly going to be exposed to it, it's probably better to have it done.

Tri hopping, but I had mine a few weeks ago and all was absolutely fine, just a numb arm for 24 hours

Midwife gave me a leaflet about it at my last appointment, and the effects of developing flu during pregnancy without the jab can be devastating. So it's defo worth getting it

Had mine this morning hehe, was in and out lovely. Said to lady hopefully don't see you next year lol as in pregnancy wise x She said no I'll see you when baby is 6 weeks old hehe x Bless
