Just wondering if anyone's not planning on getting the flu jab?

When I had my scan on Wed the midwife said I really should get it but I'm always wary about things like that. I usually end up getting whatever ever the vactionations meant to prevent straight after the jag?

As soon as I told my doctor I was pregnant I had the needle jammed in me there and then, right on the spot. No waiting or booking appointments or nothing. Flu and Swine Flu vaccine it was. He just said you'd better get that in you now and that was that! Especially with swine flu going round I really would recommend you get it asap hunny xxx

I had it, but waited til the second trimester, as when I read the leaflet that came with the vaccine it said not to have during first trimester

I had it at about 15 weeks. Luckily a week later my OH got a bad dose of the flu and it didn't touch me.

I never got it and don't plan on getting it...has swine flu gone now? Haven't heard anything about it for ages x

I had the jab in my second trimester..I didn't get the flu afterwards :)
& more importantly baby appears healthy :):):)
It's a personal decision though xxx

When I had my booking in appointment with the midwife at 6 weeks she told me I had to get the flu jab ASAP. I had it the next week. No one mentioned anything about not getting it in my first trimester, I was just told I had to get it. My arm hurt for about a week afterwards but that was all.

I think I'm going to give it a miss, it'll be just my luck to be loaded with the flu after getting the jag, plus I think swine flu has passed now.

Thanks for the advice ladies :-) xx

I'm not having it done. I feel in a very difficult predicament about it though, not an easy decision. x

It is such a difficult choice, especially being pregnant! It got me really down at one point but i stick with my decision and respect anyone elses x

I had it just before I was 20 weeks. I was worried about getting it but just weighed up the pros and cons. And that was right for me personally. It's totally up to the individual though. X

Swine Flu has not passed. It is still around and is especially a problem for the very young, the very old and pregnant women xx

It can be fatal to anyone even if you are in good health and in your twenties.

I didn't want to have it, but after reading about tragic cases and being advised by midwife I let them do it and had no ill-effects from it

I had it when I was like 12 weeks or somthin like that and my boys still bouncing around each to there own I supose :)

I had mine done on the pure fact that I catch most things going and also work with kids. I wanted to protect myself and my bubba and I felt this was the best way for me. Don't get me wrong there were a few pros and cons and I had to decide but I'm fine and bubba is strong and healthy whcih is what of course my aim was :) x
