Little Hafsah has developed very flakey skin almost all over her body. Is this normal? Will it go away? I'm pretty sure it's not exzema it's more like a layer of skin is peeling away. Hope someone can help.

Thanks in advance for replies.

Yep is totally normal :)
Its LOs skin getting used to the new enviroment it is in.

My midwife recommended olive oil and it did the trick and cleared up within a week if i remember rightly.

yep....greasing up wee man's head did the trick

Farooq peels like mad as well hun  Especially straight after a bath.

Like they say, it's the skin getting used to the outside environment....air, heating, perfumes etc

I used plain old olive oil on Farooq to start with after being told by a few people that it normally does the trick but he was still just peeling non stop so the doctor prescribed Aqueous Cream. I think you can buy it over the counter at the pharmacy but if you go via the doctor then you can get it for free as your little one is under 1yr old (also in case you didn't know - because I didn't  - us mum's also get free dental care and prescriptions until they are 1yr old :D )

I found that the Aqueous worked a bit better than the olive oil. He's still slowly adjusting but he's NOW WHERE near as flaky as before

Good luck

Olive oil worked wonders for my LO too - she went from reptile to human baby in no time at all
