Fixed front wheel, on three wheeler prams..

..does anyone have a three wheeler pram that has a fixed front wheel?

whats the manouverability like on them?


anyone have the Graco excursion in particular?

I have a 3 in 1 pram / pushchair / carseat system. When you have it in the pram mode the front wheels are fixed and the back wheels rotate. It is not bad for manouverability but it isn't the easiest either (better than supermarket trolleys though ). We found you would have to swivel it around and go backwards with it on occasions. Funnily now that I am using it the other way round more (with Ellie in the car seat attached to it), it took me a while to get use to manouvering it with the swivel wheels at the front.

Edit: Just re-read your post properly mine has 4 wheels not three.

i have a threewheeler that you can lock the front wheel. personally i hate it when i knock it on to locked and find it much more hard work. could just be cos i'm used to having it swivel i guess but i much prefer the manouverability you get with it on swivel.

yes i have a 3 wheeled pram - none of the wheels rotate.

it's not so bad, you get used to it. i admit if i had to buy another pram though i would go for a swivel wheeled one - i didn't really think much about it at the time when i was buying one though. silly me.

in my opinion, the fixed wheel ones are somewhat sturdier - you don't get the wheels going dodgy like some swivel wheel ones do, but it is harder to manoever.

I have a three wheel pram where you have the choice of locking the front wheel or not. I love it!!
I don't usually lock the front wheel tho - only time I did was when I had to get the bus home after putting the car in for service and I found it much more difficult to move with it locked.

I have the Quinny Speedi. It's a bit bulkier than the Quinny Buzz or Zapp but we do alot of walking so wanted something more sturdy.
