First scan

i am roughly 4-6 weeks pregnant and i just wondered when i should get my first baby scan?...

i went to the doctors last week.. and she told me to make a booking to see the midwife and i had to wait for a call from her to made an appointment for a scan... but i havent had a call bk yet...

any ideas?

If you don't know when your LMP was you'll get a dating scan, anywhere between now and roughly when you hit the 12 week mark (they did that with me to save appointments) and then you should get your 12 week scan.. if your dating scan shows your like 6 weeks or whatever x

well, as far as i can remember my LMP was at the end of september bout the 26, 27th

You will have your first MW appointment around 8-10 weeks then your 12 week scan after that hun

ah right ok... i have an appointment coming up to see my MW she is gonna phone on wednesday afternoon to make it with me... so wat do they normally do on your first scan? will u discuss the EDD?

The 12 week scan they will measure baby and tell you how far along you are hun. At MW appointment you will fill in loads of paperwork, be told your hospital/birth centre choices, be told about different blood tests you will have during pregnancy etc
