First scan yesterday!

Hi there, had my first scan yesterday at 11 weeks.

All seems fine, seen heartbeat and saw it kicking a wee bit. But it was lying face down, all cuddled up. Must take after its father, sleeping all the time!!

Very happy and relieved.. can now start to enjoy my pregnancy.

Apparently my uterus is tipped back or something? anyone know what this means?

Congratulations on a successful scan... And believe me when i say a tilt isn't that uncommon... I have one too.... Made my first labour a bit easier so they say... and well 27 mins....no pain relief and no stitches...I'd say yeah!
2nd labour bit different his back was against my back..unusual position and tilt made that harder... but well worth it...
Oh Yeah...TTC is fun too...we are meant to lie on bellies to help the swimmers...most people have to lie on backs...

So thats it!!
Better protection for bubs ..and should be easier labour..... mind you also means we normally have bucket type bums that stick out a wee bit too

You probably have a 'retroverted uterus', which basically means it's tilting towards your back instead of your tummy.

As far as I know it doesn't cause any serious problems, the only thing is that when your uterus comes out of your pelvis (around 12 weeks) there is a slight cance it could get stuck on your pelvic bone. But this can be rectified. Once it's out it'll be fine.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think it's what it means.
