First period after pregnancy (sorry if in wrong place)

I hope this is ok to post here. It's not quite in the right place but I'm hoping more people will see it here.

To keep it short and simple... My little one is just over 7 months. I bled for about 10 weeks after the c section. I then stared my first period about 6 weeks ago. It's been very light at times, almost to the point where I thought it had finished but then it got heavier again and it has now been about 6 weeks.

I've read that it's normal for the first period to be longer after pregnancy but how long is too long?
Getting a little worried now :/

I would have thought 6 weeks is far too long for a second period (sorry if I've got this wrong and it's not that long).

I bled for 6 weeks after my section and then when I did get my next period it last about a week - normally my periods only last 3/5 days max.

If I were you I'd be thinking about either seeing my gp it nurse practitioner to discuss it.

Don't want to read and run. I didn't have a section with either of my boys. I cant remember how long I bled for after my 1st period with my 1st son. But was probably a few days. With my 2nd who's 5months now I was bleeding quite heavy for over a week. I saw my gp who didn't seem to concerned and said to go back if it continued past 14 days and they would send me for a scan incase it was retained placenta. I did stop soon after tho. Not much help sorry but I'd defo make an app with gp just to put your mind at rest x

I had read your post but could really offer any advice. My periods started 6 months after I gave birth and although slightly heavier they just lasted the usual 5 days start to finish

My first period after birth was a normal 5 days. I would speak to your GP xx
