First OPK in a long time

Hi Kelly, The test line needs to be as dark or darker than the control line for it to be positive. It might suggest you are soon to ovulate so might be worth re checking 2-3 times a day until it gets darker, I used these last month and my lines didn't get any darker so not sure if this meant I didn't ovulate or that I simply just missed the surge! Either way my af arrived two days early today so I'm out this month! What is an IC?

What tests are these? Is the picture upside down? Xx

Yeah it looks like it's the wrong way around lol!

I don't use opks anymore, I have no trust in them! One month I had the most blazing positive opk and blood tests said I didn't ovulate. Another month I didn't ever get a positive opk and bloods said I did ovulate :wall2: big fat fibber opks

My GP said if I get ewcm then DTD when you see this is the best indication, maybe go by that as well as? Xx

Hi Kelly when you get the dark line, which it looks like you definitely did it means ovulation will occur within the next 48 hours so now would be the best time to get baby making. Once you have ovulated your fertility window has gone. You are better off dtd the day you see the positive and perhaps the next day to be on safe side. As for cm, it is weird but also good that none us seem too bothered by it....lol.... I've been tracking my cm over the last two weeks and I reaslided by af was about to arrive as it had dried up! Now wondering, as af came two days early when would be good to start testing with opk's again....I am only on for 4 days so thinking to test 5 days onwards to be on safe side as worried I ovulated early last time. My cycles are quite short.....24 days this month! I guess the only advantage to shorter cycles is not as long to wait for either a bfn or a more wanted bfp! X

Just looked at your tests again, I would say that you ovulated today if the line is lighter. Your LH surge happened on cd20/2 by the looks of things so those days would have been the best days to dtd......

I think it's a really good idea to keep track as you'll know when your ovulating and when the best time to dtd. Also helps to pass the time if you are waiting for ovulation or your bfp.....taking basal temperature also good as temperature peaks after ovulation. It's good as an indicator that you have ovulated, but the only downside is that once your temperature has risen, you have already ovulated which means you've missed your fertile window. Tracking this using one of the free downloadable charts gives you an idea of when you are likely to ovulated each month, given previous months patterns. Hopefully when you do ttc you won't be charting for long!
