She is going into her own room!
It's so sad although i'm hoping it may help us both sleep better (although not me for the first few nights i'm sure)
It's just a great big reminder that my baby isn't such a baby anymore!

Anyway, the real reason for this post. Is there any tips i need to know? I'm a huge worrier so i can imagine i'm gonna be up all night checking on her!
And to leave her. She is up every 2 hours for a feed. Is this likely to cut down with her being in a different room? You know, coz of the smell?

Anything else?

No advice, I never co-slept, just wanted to wish you luck

number of feeds could cut down as sometimes by the time you get there they decide they don't need fed afterall.

make sure you have a monitor for you own paice of mind, jsut turn it up to hear them breath without having to get out of bed.

Good luck I am sure you will both be fine, its weird at first and you will be up and down a lot the first few nights! I still get up if she is a bit late waking for a feed just to check and feel very guilty if I sleep through too, although obviously the aim is for ALL of us to get extra sleep lol
Make sure you have a comfy place to feed when you get up, I found if I brought her to bed to feed she didnt go back cos we would get comfy and sleepy again, so we now have a really comfy rocking chair which I have almost nodded off in myself on occasion! Also get a cardy/wrap handy and some slippers in case you are in with her for a while, its really chilly at the moment at 4 am lol :D
Happy sleeping for you all,

The only thing i am bothered about is i am one for checking her breathing! She is a silent breather so i'm constantly checking on her anyway! Gonna be so much harder when she's in another room and i can't afford a decent monitor. Mine's pretty average.

I am the same, totally obsessed I check her all evening, I put our monitor as close to her cot as it will go and turn up the volume on the handset to top whack. The first few nights I also slept (or not lol) with the monitor by my pillow. The worst thing I found was waking and not being able to remember if she should be in bed with me or if she was in her room, cue frantic searching under the duvet etc and one quite cross OH :rotfl:
You dont have to go cold turkey hun, why not bring her in with you when its getting nearer morning, I sometimes do this if she wakes at 5 ish to make sure she settles back down so we can have a couple more hours peace lol, it might seem less scary if you think of it as few hours rather than all night

I think i may just do that. At like 5 or 6ish just bring her back.
Well it's not going too well right now! She's screaming! Me and my OH are taking it in turns to go and settle her. It doesn't help that she now stands in her cot so i'm worried about her falling and hurting herself. She's not in a travel cot like she was in our room. They're a bit softer if you bang your head! Lol

Good luck, im sure everything will be well and hope you get some rest in between checking on her

Good luck

I hope it works well for you. I look forward to reading how things work out for you as my LO is just learning to fall asleep in her cot instead of our bed, but one day she will move into her own room...

Hope you both will get to sleep better x

So far so good. She took about an hour to go to sleep. And has just woken and had a bit of a cry, but we left her to it and within 2 minutes she's settled again.

We've had so many issues with sleep, and just as we get something that works, something else ruins it! Like Christmas, bugs or teething. So now she's a bit better we decided to just go for it.

It went so much better than i expected. She woke up once for a feed about 1.45am! Went straight back down again. I woke at 5.30am and had to go check on her as i thought it was weird as she usually feeds around then. At she got up at 7.30am! I brought her into bed with me til she got me up at 10.30am! I hope this is how it stays. I think it was a fantastic first night.

Out of everyone hon i soooo hope she starts giving you some sleep, can't wait to hear the progress.

:) Thanks.
I think after almost 9 months of no sleep, i deserve a bit now! Lol. I could sleep for days.

We had a full night!!!!  :cheer: :cheer:
She went to bed at 9pm, kicked up til she fell asleep at 10pm, and didn't wake til 8am!!!
I, on the other hand, got up 3 times to check on her! Lol. I just couldn't stop myself!

OMG that's AMAZING! I'm so jealous! My LO has been in her own room from being 7 weeks old and I still get up 3 or 4 times between 6pm and 7am to feed her. I'm currently trying to make her wait half an hour before going in to feed her- hoping she'll settle and realise she isn't hungry as I know she wakes habitually now. I'm soft though and find it hard to ignore...9 months without unbroken sleep is a loooong time though and I'm knackered.
