first midwife what happens?

hi girls got my first midwife on friday, and havnt been before. just wondered what to expect or if i needed to bring anything with me?. im gunna guess they need to take a nasty blood test from me lol.

Hi minxies, i had my first midwifes appointment last week. I didn't know what to expect either - it's my first pregnancy. It was pretty painless really, she asked for a lot of contact details, height, weight, both mine and the OH's medical history, and she also passed through my details so i would recieve scan dates/further appointment dates. There was also wee test and yes, a few nasty blood tests. But i also got a large pack of info including a booklet on finances, how to claim free baby stuff etc. And she was really nice and explained a lot to me...so it's not all bad! Good luck hun xxx

Hi minxies I had mine a couple of weeks ago it took about 1hr 30mins. She went through all the details for me and Oh and families etc. Had a little wee test and blood test, did weight etc(yuk)lol. Then got given a bounty pack with my notes that had a big book with info in and a Emmas Diary pregnancy book which had a voucher for a free pack of newborn huggies nappies (bargain) and another voucher for a bounty pack. All in all a pretty good mw visit!!! lol

aww it all seems pretty exciting then, apart from the wee, blood and weight part haha!!
its my second pregnancy but i mc before my midwife last time so didnt know what to expect lol.
I hope i have a nice mw dont want some grumpy old lady lol!!! xx

I was lucky mine is such a sweetie really funny and she was a big girl so didn't moan at me about my weight. lol. x
