Hey when did you all have your first midwife appt? I filled out a referral form at the doctors, just waiting to hear from the midwife now.

I'm high risk due to my last pregnancy and was told I'd need to take aspirin daily throughout my next one but don't want to start taking it until I've spoken to the midwife.

:)

My first MW appointment was at the hospital at 8 weeks (booking in appointment).

Had mine around 6 weeks at home x

Guess I’ll just wait to hear from her then x

Each trust is different with their target gestation for bookings to have taken place, and can also depend on how busy they are. But you should DEFINITELY have had your booking before your 12/40 scan, so if you haven't been booked by 10/40, follow up with the maternity unit (probably antenatal clinic) as a safely net to ensure you get all your information and booking done in time.

I had mine at 8 weeks too and was told to take aspirin every day once I reached 12 weeks due to pre eclampsia in a previous pregnancy. I self referred to the hospital and took them maybe a week to send me the appointment out x

Mine called and spoke to me yesterday and I will be seeing her at 8 weeks x

I rang them in the end, I’ve been given an appointment for next week xx

I had my first at 8w as you get your first set of screening bloods upto 8 weeks, then 10, then you will have your scan - well thats how mine went for both although I was not under consultant care.

Cx

Mine was at 8 weeks - I called to book it. Have you called and asked whether you need to book it yourself?

I just had my booking appointment on Sunday at 8 wks 2 days. I have been told I will need to take a low dose of aspirin daily from around 12 weeks and the MW would have that ready for me when I go for my 12wk scan.

I never bothered with the doctors at all, I just phoned the MW unit directly and they dealt with it all. They asked if I had informed my doctor and I said no and she asked my permission for her to tell them.

Seems everywhere is really different. I went to the GP first. She did my blood pressure and referred me for my 12 and 20 week scans. She also referred me to the hospital for review as I have an ongoing hormone problem that could cause issues in pregnancy. Then I booked in with the midwife and had my booking appointment around 10 weeks.

With my first pregnancy i booked an appointment with my GP who said " why have you come to see me? you need to see a midwife". lol

This time around I phoned GP practice who booked me in with the midwife for my 10 week appointment. Took an hour and a half to fill in all the forms. I then got a letter through for my 12 week scan which is this Friday. :)

I asked my GP and they just said they don't see you anymore and gave me the booking number. I called and booked to be seen at 8 weeks. I did have to go to the GP twice for antiemetics while waiting for my booking appointment, and the hospital for a scan at 6 weeks, but I was only able to get that scan due to the booking appointment having already been made
