I saw my midwife when I was 9 weeks and was with her for about an hour. Lovely chat getting to know each other, she went through my book with me, gave me helpline numbers for emergencies and depression (she's part time). She booked me in for 17 weeks (slightly late cause I'm in Disneyland for my 16th week, she's looking forward to hearing all about it ) gave me my free prescription form and my Emma's diary along with the rest of my bounty pack. She also told me what to expect on each of my scan dates. Gave advice on different services offered (hypnobirthing classes, whooping cough, flu jabs) and told me when they'd test for downs etc and what blood tests would show up. I was terrified when I first went in, it's my first pregnancy that has been viable but came out feeling much more reassured. I think Gg is right, might be worth asking PALS or your surgery if it's standard to have to wait until 22 weeks. I'm very surprised as that would be most women's 3rd appointment.
Thank you for sharing, your reply is very informative x
