Ive got my first Doctors appointment today at 4:50

Does anything happen at this or is just a formality

Hi hun i had my docs app last week all he asked was when my last AF was asked me if i was already taking folic acid and then told me to make an app for the MW on the way out. He also provided me with a sample container which you will need to take to your 1st app with the MW

Doctors appointment is usually a quick 'congratulations' (asked me first if this was a planned PG, very wise, covering her bases) took my BP, worked out my due date from my LMP and said to book in with the MW from 8 weeks PG onwards as they don't do booking in before then.

They often don't bother testing again and take you at your word. They use the same tests as we buy so its no biggie.

Either you will then need to book in with MW later on or she will contact you and arrange your booking in appointment. Thats mostly paperwork also and nothing else is done before 12 weeks as a rule.

Back from Doctors as expected he asked date of last period which isa total guestimate asked if i was taking folic acid and told me not to drink or smoke.

Midwife is going to phone me tommorow with a booking in appointment first available was 26th April apparently that is to late so she is going to try and squeeze me in somewhere.
