Hi girls,

is it common to go overdue or give birth early when it's your first pregnancy?

I hear its more common to go over.

I hear it's common to go over as well but I didn't.

I went into labour at 9.30pm on my due date! 22 hour labour meant that he was born the next day

thats not bad at all actually. I wish my labour is quick

did you go swimming during last pregnancy?

I swam a lot in later pregnancy as I had awful sciatica and it was lovely to feel weightless

I'm pregnant with my 1st, and I'm due tomorrow with no signs of appearance haha!

I can't imagine swimming would have any effect on the length of labour x

I went 5 days over with DD1. 2 days over with DD2. Maybe this one will appear on time  x

My little boy was 10 days early. My friend who was due a month after me with her first was also 10 days early. I do know more people who were overdue with their first and everyone guessed that I would be overdue!

i was induced on my due date due to high blood pressure but otherwise I am pretty sure I would have gone over :)

most of my friends went a few days over.

swimming is a good, light exercise in pregnancy, i would definitely recommend xx

Congratulations Hun!!

With my first my contractions started on my due date (I got really excited as if he had come on time he would have shared his birthday with another family member which is pretty common in my extended fam) but he didn't he was born two days later..

With my second this was my most active pregnancy as even with a baby of a few months old I had so much energy. She came 7days late but was a super easy labour (I hope for the same this time) (she was due day after her dads birthday)

With my 3rd he also came 2days after my due date (and again he would have shared his birthday had he came on time but this time with my mum).

This time I'm due the day before my late nans birthday (val day) so I'm keeping everything crossed that this little nugget breaks the trend and can come a day late!

Would deffo recommend light excercise in early pregnancy and through out the pregnancy as it really helps with labour not so much the length of it but more the actual labour. Wishing you all the best xx

I've heard that rumour about first babies being late, but me and all my family members have been early with ours. That includes in laws too so not linked to anything genetic. Also a lot of my friends have had early or on time first babies. So I'm not sure how much truth their is in that rumour...

9 days late here. Although I went into labour 10pm 40+6 and had him at 1am 40+9. He was born on daddy's birthday.

Number 2 just popped out though :p

I had my first 3 days over but in slow labour in that time. I'm not sure if it is a myth or not. Swimming is a great exercise to do in pregnancy but I don't think it will really have an impact on your labour although your body will benefit and have thst extra strength. X
