Finger foods

Ok I admit it, I am petrified of Brody choking. I gave him an organix rice cake today and he sucked on it.

With carrot sticks, broccoli etc, how do you cook it? How big are the carrot sticks? I bought some batons today and wonder if they're too thin.

I used to give my little one carrot batons and broccoli and he LOVED them. Just boil or steam them but make sure they are WELL cooked so that they are really soft. Also, I used to chop banana up into similar sized portions and give him that. Good luck

I just steam veg until its nice and soft. With banana I usually just cut it in half or thirds, depending on the length of the banana but just give him the whole thing as it's not so slippery and there is plenty for him to hold.

Don't panic, it is a little bit scary at first and Brody will gag but don't panic, it's all part of the learning and exploring. Just enjoy it!

Don't worry! I opened Tyler's nappy this morning and found 3 1cm sized chunks of carrots and 2-3 same sized chunks of cooked apple!

They spit it out a lot but they still swallow iykwim? Maybe read the BLW book for reassurance?

Will bought everything up the first two times i gave finger food and i mean he bought up what sometimes looked like 3 bottles worth of milk! but then it just stopped, he will get there hun x
