After six weeks in temporary housing we can move back into our house this weekend Just in time for our first Christmas with Galen
I've not been able to do much Christmas shopping, nor sent cards to people, let alone done a food shop as the logistics of doing all of that and having to move it all to the cottage from here just seemed too much. So we are keeping it very low key this Christmas. Fine by us as all we wanted was to be home. We really don't like town living and I'm missing our cottage, the woodburner, my garden, chickens and the view.
Also because of my op I really havn't had the time I'd like to get things done for Christmas. I've ordered a duck for our dinner but parents said could I cook my chilli beef and that would be fine. So yay for parents, chilli beef it is. OH, Galen and I will have roast duck on Boxing Day after a day out on the moor.
Have to say its been a bit of a nightmare with insurance claims and council tax cock ups. But I had a shiny new 20 inch iMac from it and also the local council (after a few phone calls and lots of wordiness from me) look like they will class our house as 'uninhabitable' for the 6 weeks and we won't have to pay council tax. I've been arguing with them over this for 3 weeks now and it looks like my persistence has paid off. It saves us £160 odd so I'm not complaining. Just wish I hadn't had to argue so much to get it.
Other news... I hate double beds and will never sleep in one again. Its king size or nothing for me now. I am looking forward to sleeping in our king size bed more than anything else.
Raspberries are yum. So is mashed potato with chopped onion and grated cheese. But not together.
O and I finally have my 'urgent' physio appointment (requested by 2 departments about 3 months ago now) for the end of January.
And woooo I'l be home and on my own (new) computer this weekend!!!!!
