Hi ladies, with this pregnancy i seem to be loosing abit of watery discharge quite alot. A lot of days it feel like ive pee'd myself abit so i go to check. Ive had this from early on and thought it was just an early pregnancy symptom but it hasnt stopped.
Anyway last week i told my midwife and she gave me a cotton bud type thing to take a swab myself. I get the results weds.
Would that show if it was fluid from the baby as i really dont think i got much on it. (sorry!)
It doesnt smell so cant be an infection so do some women just loose this in pregnancy? I never experienced this with my son.x

i've had this quite a bit too, (probably tmi ) i can feel it coming out, i ran to the loo a few times in case it was blood but is just clear fluid - not enough to soak underwear but leaves things a bit damp  . Mentioned it to MW who says its normal, that if it was my waters breaking early there woudl be loads more fluid, and just to wear pantyliners.

don't worry, most likely it is just an increased amount of discharge. I have had this all through my pregnancy and just use pantyliners everyday. If you are worried it's amniotic fluid then there is no harm in having it checked. Ask your MW/Dr. if you can have it tested. I had a swab done by my Dr. (like the one you describe) and it came back as normal discharge and a little thrush which can be easily treated with canesten.

Thanks for your replies, that has reassured me. :) Hopefully its nothing, will find out tomorrow.

I've had this since about 17 weeks - it really worried me at first. I'm still getting it 10 weeks later, so I think it really is just one of those lovely pregnancy symptoms.

I actually found a product on ebay called Amniosense - these are special pany liners that can detect amniotic fluid, that you can't buy in the shops - it shows up blue if there is any detected. I've used them on days when it's been really bad, just for a bit of extra reassurance. Might be worth a try? I think they were about £12 for a pack of 7.
