Ive bf my baby for 4 months but really struggling with his demand feeding of every 2hrs through the night and when hes not feeding hes stirring.

Ive not very well at the minute and feel run down as i havent had sleep in 4 months, we do everything ourselfs, dont have a break as our family live a far.

Ive opted to try and fill him up on formular tonight to try and sleep better, as daddy is feeding and settling him im in tears in the bathroom feeling ive failed him on bf :(

I just want some sleep :(

Xx

Aww wilson, sorry you're feeling this way. As you know I don't BF, so I have the utmost admiration for you and what you're doing for Arthur. You've been absolutely amazing for him and I know it hasn't been easy for you.

I know how you feel. I was at my wits end when we gave a bottle. But I'll just tell you what a wise person told me. Formula is not poison. It's carefully devised to be as good a food as possible for your LO. You've given him the best start he could possibly have with BF and you're going to continue to do so. It's OK to have a little help and a happier mummy makes a happier baby.

Hope you get some rest and feel better xxxx

Oh my darling I am so sorry you're feeling like this. I really totally understand how you are feeling. Finn feeds every hour and a half day and night at the moment, so I feel your pain! It is really hard work! Can you express?x

Thanks girls, i only gave him 5oz of formula just before bed and he settled really well, just dream feeding him now and hes latched very quickly, fingers cross it works, ive tried expressing but i produce wY to much foremilk and this bungs him up with wind, and air so hes not feeding properly, its been a vhorrible circle xx

Hugs Wilson I've only just seen this.
I know you've been having a thought of late with little Arthur's waking up and feeding. If its any consultation Madison is waking ever 2-3 hours at night now if really is tough going BUT I know she will soon settle back down.
La is right..formula is not poison and you shouldn't feel bad about giving it to him, 4 months ebf is amazing so well done you.
xx
