Hiya ladies, i'm in need of advice 😊
I've just found out im pregnant with baby no.2... Im so excited but worried about how i'll cope with a newborn & my toddler who'll be nearly 22months! I have ebf my daughter who is now 13 months old & shes still going strong, but my nipples hurt SO much at the moment & i feel like if i cant cope now then what the heck will i be like when no.2 gets here 😖 How do you guys keep a toddler in check with a baby on your boob?! What sort of routines do you use? Thank you so much for reading! I know im thinking far ahead since im only just 4 wks gone but im a bit nervous! Xx

my DD self weaned at the start of tri 2, around 12 weeks preg when she was just past her first birthday, a lot of ppl find that their babies will self wean during pregnancy. i try to sit and feed when dd1 is playing and have sort of got a feeding routine going tht leats me be free at dd1's bedtime and teatime, its hit and miss but if need be i will put down dd2 and resume feeding when i can or i put her in the sling and bf in that while seeing to dd1
i have a 5 week old and a 19 month old :)

Theres 18 months between my two and I'm tandem nursing at the moment, 23 month and 5 month old! Its lots of fun that all I can say and to be honest you very quickly get use to looking after two!

Don't be surprised if your daughter doesn't self wean, my son didnt show any signs of wanting to wean! The first few weeks with a newborn were hard but now its so rewarding. As for keeping a toddler in check while tending to another child, I find counting to 3 helps - if he doesn't stop doing what hes not suppose to be doing by the time I count to 3 then I unlatch dd and dicipline ds. I've found I rarely need to get to 3 now as he knows thats when I mean business lol.

Another good thing to do is have a box of toys that only come out when you are breastfeeding no 2 - although in order for this to work the box has to be hidden at othertimes! I think a sling might be a good idea too but I haven't actually used one. I think because no2 doesn't get so much attention they are a lot easier than the first, Im sure thats not the case in every scenario but it certainly is in mine. My poor daughter gets put down and I run after my toddler lol..

Its great fun, congratulations and hope you have a happy healthy pregnancy!

I have the same worries but Im already struggling to feed my 2 year old due to terrible all day and night sickness so Im guessing weaning might happen over the next few weeks for me :( feeling a bit down about it tbh, I thought he would perhaps self wean in tri 2.

Awww Sarah I have just seen this. Hope you are feeling better, morning sickness is just the worst and its even harder to deal with while breastfeeding. You really need to eat little and often though day and night if you can - its amazing how much your body needs while pregnant and breastfeeding

He's still been having some night feeds just depends if I can manage with how sick I feel!
