Sorry for the rant but I am sooo fed up today, we have no chance of falling this cycle as I have got bloomin BV, the docs have given me an antibiotic cream so there is no way the little swimmers would swim through it, plus hubby won't go near me in case we keep passing the infection from one to another.

I am sooo fed up it's been 6 months now and nothing :(

Hopefully though the cream will clear it and we can really attack ttc with gusto in the new year. On the bright side I suppose I can have a Christmas drink or two :)

Not sure what the point of my post is, I suppose I just wanted to get it off my chest.

Anyone have any tips on how to prevent BV from coming back? I'm drinking pro biotics but there must be other stuff I can do.

what is BV? is it an infection, bacterial something or other? all i can suggest is to make sure if u have sex ur partner is thouroughly clean, wipe front to back on the loo, wear cotton pants oh and dont wear g-strings- as these spread bacteria from the bottom (which are normal and harmless there) to the girlie bits (which should not have bacteria). vitamin c is also good for fighting infections, as is proper good nite's sleep. hope that helps? x x x

Sorry to hear this, hon! Stay away from anything sugary or carb-loaded as bad bacteria feeds on sugar, and drink lots and lots of water!!

Hope you feel better soon.

Sorry Bacterial vaginosis, similar to thrush but quite often it's undetected so i'm glad they've caught it I suppose.

Thanks for the advice i'll steer clear of the sweeties :)

I had this! Kept thinking I'd got thrush & i was driving the docs mad keep going back  I was run down around the time that I suffered from it & sure it was thrush.

Turns out I was bringing it on myself, by washing away the "good" bacteria
TMI warning! but hey we've all done it (I hope)...... In the bath DON'T squirt/pull the water inside (think they call it douching??) That was the cause for me  I'd been having baths around that time i suffered.

Anyway, stopped doing that & it went away & never came back!!
Oh by the way, semen can make it worse as well, apparently it affects the ph balance in your tupps. When I suffered it always flared up worse after BDin

Hope it clears up xx

Thanks MrsU, it's a bloomin nightmare, apparantly loads more common than thrush too but can get missed.
:wall: re semen. Going to look up everything I can do now to keep the ph balance right down there...
