father made contact

just recieved a text msg off a number that i dont know. im guessing its from one of the dads friends. the exact words are

"would you like 2 go 4 tasty beer with tom. please?"

my parents said the best thing to do is to ignore it, they said if he wants to meet you he can ask himself. so i didnt send a reply.

do you think i am being fair?

Yeah, to me that sounds like his friends are trying to patch things up between you, so he may or may not know about it.....the last thing you want to do is ring / text him and find that he doesn't want to go out for a beer.
