Failed Tactics!

Just back from the midwife, and operation 'guilt-trip-her-into-given-me-another-scan' failed abismally!!!!
First of all it wasn't my regular midwife, so i couldnt put on the sad puppy dog eyes with the new one . Also the midwife said i wouldn't get another scan unless the baby was measuring small, so i hopped on the bench to get measured and im measuring 25 weeks (im only 24 weeks) so baby isnt small, but apparently it could just be a growth spurt, so hopefully its not too big a baby (Im only 5ft 1")!!!
Ah well thats me resigned myself to having a surprise, i guess i sort of like the idea of asking what it is when it pops out (not that i have any other choice) .

That's a shame.

On the up-side, there is NO GREATER surprise than the sex of your baby. We didn't find out last time and are not going to this time. There are so few true surprises in life and this one is the best kind.

You can enjoy playing the guessing games with your family and get to come up with endless lists of boys names as well as girls names

You could go for a scan at baby bond place, yeah you have to pay but I would if I was in your place

They are not rubbish they are doing their job. Sorry to sound a sour puss but do you know how hard it is to just get someone a scan without good reason?

You can moan all you like about MW's but don't say they are rubbish!

By the way a way to get a scan with a Midwife would be if you started to leak amniotic fluid or heavy bleeding but as an internal possibly could rule this out to not warrant a scan,you still may get one but then they wouldnt tell you the sex on this as they will say it is a medical reason for scan.

They are rubbish sometimes anyway - everyone is rubbish sometimes.

Yes everyone can be detrimental to themselves at some point and not do there job correctly and I agree that some MW's are right old sour pusses christ the one's I have trained with would be an eye-opener,and you have to be thick-skinned.

I just thought in the above case I can see why Little-red wasnt sent for a scan as her measurements were correct and there was no obvious cause at the time of appointment to warrant it.

i can understand how frustrating it is though if course and yes probably do need to chill out.

oh and carp woman, quick q, can the midwifes ring up and get more scan pics?

Since we had the problems with our cause it was nearly home time and my the scanners own admittence she wanted to get home for a glass of wine and said she didnt have time to look for the good pics so we got 2 crap ones hardly viewable really compaired to some of the ones she got!!

Not our fault they made the appointment to late stupid recoptionist at the hospital

Yeh my midwife is really good, just over worked and underpaid unfortunatly like alot of the NHS!

God JW thats bad.

In our area,we cant get more pictures after the scan has taken place,and I have to be honest I have never been asked,so am unsure of exactly what we would do.

I find it terrible that a sonographer would of her own admitance say she wanted to get home. That is poor service,especially if it was their fault the scan was running late.

I would certainly have a moan to the reception desk though you never know.
