Morning girls

I'm breast feeding my 18 day old daughter but I'm starting to have trouble with one breast. My right breast gets quite engorged and then lo struggles to latch onto it and emptying the blobs takes ages.

I'm rubbish at hand expressing so I'd like to use my electric pump to ease this but I'm worried, if I express some off will it just lead to more milk being made and a bigger problem?

Yep, as you said the more you express the more your telling your body to produce more milk. It's really hard but you have to try & avoid it if you can. Warm or cold compresses & breast compressions whilst LO is feeding will help.

Hope it eases soon & congrats on getting to 18 days! The first few weeks are the absolute hardest x x

Thank you for your help, how frustrating. I will try a warm compress

I expressed to ease mine and it really helped and had no further issues. I expressed after a feed time and one boob was still engorged so it didn't effect the supply.
