Hi Everyone
I had an emergency C-section with my first baby; it was an experience I never want to repeat - aside from the trauma of the surgery I definitely missed out on some bonding in the beginning and because of the surgery I had a suspected blood clot on my lung which meant I had to have an injection of radiation for a special x-ray. This then meant that I was unable to touch or hold, feed or nurse my newborn for 12 hours; this completely broke my heart.
This time I really want to have a vaginal delivery but I have so many questions. Im not going to see a midwife for ages yet I don't think, although my sister in law is a MW for high risk women so I can talk to her but I did want to know if any of you have experience of this to share?
I am worried about the uterine scar rupturing in normal labour; is this irrational/common/expected/preventable? Im also worried about the doctor not listening and ordering a C-section as routine; Im also wondering if I will need to go to the hospital earlier on in first/second stage labour to be monitored? This kept me awake at 4am and started to worry that we should have left it longer than 15 months to TTC
I would really appreciate your words of wisdom ladies; thanks in advance!
Helen
