Hi all,

I used to be a big runner but stopped and only recently started getting back into it before getting pregnant. I would like to make sure I do carry on exercising throughout my pregnancy as I know it's good for me and baby.

What exercises are you doing in pregnancy? I have just done a short yoga for pregnancy video which was nice and relaxing but I feel I need a little more to go with it.

Anything g that you’re used to is fine! Don’t take on anything too strenuous that’s new to you, or contact sport. I plan to continue weight lifting and boxercise when I get my bfp x

Well after typing this I tried doing my usual (mixture of jogging around the room and dancing like a fool) and I struggled because my boobs hurt and then I started to feel sick so I stopped. I'll try again tomorrow.

Thank you for the response though, I did think that was the case but don't want to just assume and risk anything

Yeh sore boobs are a whole issue ont themselves lol! But safety-wise you’re fine. I recommend the shock absorber sports bras (recommending as a fitness enthusiast not a midwife) ;) x

Thank you - I'll measure myself up tomorrow and look at ordering one :)

I'm someone who's at the gym 4 times a week and I do dancing once a week. I haven't done any of that since 5 weeks pregnant as every time I try I feel too sick. If you find something that works, let me know. At this stage I'm just being lazy until trimester 2, haha.

I think you should let your body decide whats best. Obviously strenuous, jerky movement exercises are not acceptable but giving up completely isn't advisable either. Take it slow, pace it well and don't forget to breathe.

I have an exercise bike and a weight bench in my spare room and when I can be bothered (or have the energy) I do 40 minutes on my bike whilst watching Desperate Housewives on Prime! Then I'll do 30 minutes of weight training, but I am usually quite active around the house doing bits and pieces. I do want to get back into my old routine as I've been lazy plus it's been too hot for me.

I am doing barre3 classes still and keeping up okay!
