Hi, just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience, or advice:

I've been on a bit of mission at the gym in prep for TTC in June, going 6 x a week for last 3 weeks but only doing 30-40 mins cardio at a time). I'm also doing slimming world. I have lost weight, but not a drastic amount (11lb in 3 months).

My periods are usually quite regular, but I am now 6 days late and no sign of AF (not pregnant) I'm worried that I've messed my cycles up by doing too much exercise too quickly and worried how long it will take to get back to normal. Will AF turn up eventually or might I just miss one altogether and what impact this may have on my ovulation.

Can anyone offer any advice?
Jules

Hey Jules, I notice mine disappear or get really light if Im on an extremely low cal diet, so if youre really restricting what you are eating, this may be a result of it? I wouldnt have thought so on slimming world though.

Well done for going so hard at the gym!!! Not long now :D

over exercising does indeed mess up menstrual cycle so it has nothing to do with your diet/weight loss, but it will eventually go back to normal

Try not to worry, it will go back to normal soon.... I wonder if that's why my periods have been messed up this month actually.

I ran a marathon last October so am used to exercise but didn't run for a while and have recently started again (but started quite heavy-I can't seem to just ease myself into it) and this month my period was a week late and it's just spotting at the moment...

Yeah maybe that's the cause for you too!!

I came in eventually, a week late.

I'm a bit like you, I can't ease myself in, I'm either all or nothing!
