Just realised the title makes it sound like I bought a baby today!!! ha ha!!

I didn't, but we drove down to my auntie's and went to her friend's baby shop (shameless plug here, Bumpstart baby shop near Whaddon, Milton Keynes!!!) and they were fantastic!! Got a base and maxi-cosi cabriofix car seat and she spent ages showing us how to fit it, and checking we could do it.

Also got an Angelcare baby monitor, a changing mat and a changing mat/baby play mat thing with an arch and dangly bits to amuse baby. Can easily see how people get out of control and spend thousands - everything was soooooo lovely!! Glad that I am a) broke, and b) don't know what I'm having, so it stopped me going mental!!!

Bringing that baby seat home in the car made it seem VERY SCARY and real!!! Picking up the buggy tomorrow!! Eeeek!!!

:D sounds like a great day :D

When my OH got home last night I was buying stuff online. He looked at me and said "put down the biscuits and give me the credit card" it's very easy to get carried away but it soooooo much fun!!!!!

I love that line!!!! Biscuits and a credit card are indeed a dangerous combination - the sugar gives you a high and you go click happy!!!

Cos we have been decorating and stuff I've been on a buying ban and I have been very very good, he's relenting a bit now cos we have room so it's buy buy buy lol. There are some really good bargains to be had! I was looking for some washable nappies as a back up and there's one site that sells off second hand ones. Was put right off when I read "is stained but might wash out" eeeeeeeewwwwwwwww

I live really close to Milton Keynes. I can't believe I haven't been to that shop yet - even though I had a letter a nd a voucher from them! Gutted!!!

We have just bought the baby monitor today and I decided to get a respiratory monitor because I can't cope with any more medical problems! So now apart from the baby gym an a baby swing I am completely done!
I also MUST buy a mattress protector for my bed. Last night my boobs leaked SOOOOO bad that I stained my mattress! Eererkkkkk!!!!!

It is soooo easy to spend spend spend!
Xxx

I would definitely recommend shop - they were fab and had loads of great advice. Just a word of warning give someone else control of the credit card!! We have been ebay and amazon bargain baby buyers so far, but that place made me want to apply for an overdraft!!!!

We have opted for Angelcare for piece of mind. I know my mum's reaction will be that I am being paranoid, but I don't care - anything that helps me sleep more easily!!

And Babybrain, I applaud you for trying to go the reuseable route. We thought about it for five mins then my husband tured to me and said "you are already crap at doing the housework, I don't think having 8 nappies a day to wash is going to make you any better.". I thought about trying to argue then agreed with him and went and bought a box of newborn pampers!!! ha ha!!

Sounds like a fun day :) I've got everything now :( so my shopping days are over for a bit!!

The only luxuries I'm debating and haven't got are a jumperoo and a bumbo but don't need those straight away x x

We are using disposables as well. justforbums, part of kiddicare deliver 250 nappies a month for 20 quid all in  so I'll be ordering these soon, they refund you for the packs you don't use as baby grows too. I got the re-usables as a back up as I too am useless at housework and our washing machine might as well be something off the starship enterprise lol

I saw the just for bums offer on kiddiecare - think I'm going to do it too, although have quite a few newborn nappies already so will work my way through those and then order.
