Hi ladies,

Sorry in advance for the TMI!

I've had creamy white cm throughout my pregnancy and had no worries, however today when I wiped, there was some what looked like EWCM on the tissue..? Is this normal for this stage of pregnancy? (I'm 36+6)

Basically as the pregnancy progresses and the cervix starts to open, the cervical mucus gets thicker to protect from infection and lubricate the vagina ready for baby to come down.

Oh right, I didn't know if it was my plug starting to come away as I'd be told it's really really thick. Ooo fingers crossed then!! Thank you x

It could be your plug but that isn't an indicator something is starting unfortunately - it rejuvenates itself throughout pregnancy so bits will fall out

My CM changed alot throughout the end, some times clear ewcm sometimes thick and white.

It is not always your plug - your hormones may be making cm go like this which is perfectly normal.

I didn't lose any parts of my plug until established labour. So possible to have ewcm and no plug. :)

If it is plug it is also possible to be waiting for labour to occur. Doesn't always happen immediately.

Good luck xxx

Oh right thanks ladies! Helpful to have this info, midwives don't tell you everything it seems!! Thank you! X

I have this.. (tmi) very watery thick stuff too.. I had an over panicky consultant on Monday who sent me to a ward for monitoring as she was insistant it was a slow leak and plug but I was pretty sure it was just hormonal/getting ready stuff.

It's not very nice at all.. :(
