What a long week its been!!!
So i went into hospital on Tuesday 29th October to be induced. I had a 24hr pessary inserted at 11am and had many monitorings and checks. But nothing on the labour side. What a long 24hrs!
Wednesday 30th October, had more monitorings. Pessary removed and i was onky 1cm dilated. Boohoo!! So they tried the tablet form at 1pm. Another long 6 hours!!! But still no labour signs. Only slight period aches. At 7pm again was examined and checked and still only 1cm dilated and given another tablet.
Thursday 31st October HALLOWEEN!! 9am i had a midwife again examine and check and finally i had dilated enough for them to break my waters! She was very bloody rough though and left me very sore down below. So called OH to get his bum into hospital and that i was being transferred to the delivery suite. Happy days! This is where the fun starts...!! Around 9am after alot of monitoring and examinations and checks...again, they finally broke my waters, funny sensatation, warm trickling water.i also had to have a drip, what a mare that was to do. It took 1 midwife and 2 anetheatists and 7 attempts to find a vein. The midwife had managed to pop a vein, blood spluttering out everywhere. Ewww!!! Anyways because they werent picking up the right results to keep checks on baby, they needed to put a clip on her head WHAT A NIGHTMARE...i was in so much pain of the doctors trying to put the clip on i couldnt help but cry, cry and cry..i still wasnt dilated enough for them to reach to clip it on and they failed at doing so. They left it a bit and came back and wanted to try again, i refused because it hurt soooo bloody much. I was offered to take gas and air for them to do (it was the best decision i made at that point) and i didnt feel a thing! I was also 3cm dilated. After that the gas and air didnt leave my hands!!! Hehe. after a bit longer the contractions were coming on stronger and quicker as the drip began working, as the epidural was a choice pain relief i also had that inserted. That wasnt a problem and pretty much over and done with before i knew it. At this point onwards the contractions were imcreasing and very unbearable and the gas and air didnt leave my mouth. I loved it
i went on for as long as possible but it pretty much got increasingly unbearable..again tears rolling down my face, crying uncontrolablly. I remember saying that i cant do this anymore and that i wanted a C Section.
One of the male doctors had come into the room and wanted to take a sample of blood from the baby to check that she was happy enough for things to carry on (everytime i contracted, baby heart rate was dipping) blood test was fine and Evie was happy. A short while later a female doctor walked into the room and strsight to the point said she wasmt happy with Evies heart rate and wanted me to have a emergency C Section.
This is where it came all a blur, i just remember a load of doctors came bursting into the room, adding thi gs to my drip to start the numbing process, being transfered on to a theatre bed, my OH being passed blue scrubs and i was being taken into theatre. Again it was all a rush, i remember being given oxygen, and my body going numb and being sprayed with some stuff and being asked if it felt like ice or air. Next thing i knew the doctor checked me down below and from being told i was 3cm to being taken into theatre, i was 10cm!!! (All this happened within an hour!!!) OH with me at this point, we looked at each other like, WTF!! The doctor thought it be enough for me to start pushing, naturally!! SHOCKED! I literally remember being told to hold breath and push, i remember only doing this THREE times, next thing Evie was placed on a towel on my chest. What a relief...my daughter was here finally. She cried as soon they took her to clean her up. Then i started crying some more and OH even cried (he isnt crier) but who can blame him!! I told him go see her and check to see if she was ok
happy days!!!! The doctors where still down south i remember being their a further 20mins to half an hour stitching me up. shortly after Evie was placed on my chest, skin to skin. That was the best moment ever!! She was worth every pain and contraction i cursed at. I love her to peices!! Shes my little Angel!!!
