When I did a placement on a cardiac ward, I looked after loads of people who had this done and the recovery is amazing. They are out of bed the next day! Hope all is well and he gets a new lease of life!
Hi everyone and thank you so much for asking about him. I have just got back from visiting him. The op went well, but he has been in a lot of pain afterwards and wouldn't see anyone for the first couple of days which was upsetting for everyone. He still has an oxygen tube etc which he should have had taken out by now so they are aiming to get them out soon. They are going to try and get him to walk this afternoon which he isn't looking forward to. He wont eat which is causing problems as he is diabetic but my mum managed to persuade him to have some soup today and some water. He looked shocking and was covered in wires but I managed to hold it together and Rubie was really excited to see him. So he is on the mend thankfully and thank you all again for being so kind to put messages up about him, it means a lot to me. Big hugs to you all
Did he get a teddy bear to clench for coughing and sneezing?
I am sure in a few days he will be feeling a bit better and more like company and trying to do things, it is a huge Op and is has a major effect on people! But in time, he will be great hun! Keep your chin up and I hope he is feeling better soon!
My Dad has had 2 Quadruple heart bypasses. So I know how you feel hun, it is very upsetting and worrying xx
