I agree with the one post that I've only ever heard it pronounced as Ev-a-lynn the E pronounced as 'eh' I've never heard ever-lynn or eve-lynn. Interesting!

I had a neighbour called Evelyn once.

Most people called her Ev-a-lynn, but a couple of older ladies who I'd say considered themselves a bit posh pronounced it eve-lyn LOL

If I saw the name Evelyn written down I'd assume it was pronounced Eh-vah-lyn.

I would assume it would be Eve-Lynn.

This is why I personally wouldn't have a name that can be misconstrued.
How annoying to go through your whole life with people not being able to pronounce it let alone spell it properly.

Saying that, it is a lovely name though xx
