What exactly is an evaporation line? I've never took a preg test before but everytime someone gets a line on the test, they ask if its a bfp or an evap line and yet some people say a line is a line ie. a positive!

So I'm confused.. whats the difference??

Thank you!

As a rule, an evap line is one that shows up after the 10 mins. Most brand of test tell you to read the result within 10 mins as otherwise could be a false positive.

The lines are usually grey rather than the pink/purple/blue they should be (to match the control line).

If you get a line within the 10 mins then yes, a line is a line as it is very rare to get a false positive if the test is read within the time.

When I was TTC I got an evap line under 10 mins, I always wondered what causes them...

How likely would it be to get an evap line that wasnt grey but slightly pink after a minute and a half, very faint but could be seen, and then 8 hours later hardly a sign on the stick and the test line was all faded and blotchy?
Would this be a duff test stick do you think?
