My work have recently decided that if you need to take the day off because your child is ill or similar then rather than giving you E.T.O.D you will need to make the time back up.
This is impossible for me. The days I have off work are to look after Jack and the times he is in nursery is when I am at work.
Anyway I have tried looking into this, HR say it's managers descretion but the way I read it is that manager's descretion only applies to the whether or not you get paid. I would be willing to take the time off unpaid if neccassary I just have a problem with being asked to make the time up.
Does anyone know where I stand with this? Thanks
