She has had brain scans, heart scans is on ventilation has had an infection amongst other things i just wondered if anyone else had been through this?
I just feel totaly useless.

aww hun, i had my little one at 32 weeks I know its not the same as yours is smaller but im thinking of you hun. Ella got an infection in her blood when she was a few days old, they thought it was serious as her platelets dropped to 35 and she had to have a platlet transfusion and was given stronger antibiotics and she picked up. I was looking at the boards round the unit and one of them was about a baby that had been born at 23 weeks and is now a healthy todler. When ella was there I just thought it as being that they were growing her for me as my body couldnt do it anymore. She is well looked after in neo natal hun, and she is in the best place. I found it hard leaving her there and i really feel for you, if u
ever wanna talk, im here. but I do know how scary it all is,

My cousin has just had a baby girl at 27 weeks and 5 days for the exact same reason as you  Baby was 1lb 11oz at birth and she is currently doing well :D She has had a heart and brain scan which were both fine thank goodness. We're just taking one day at a time.

I hope Ellie does well and gets stronger with every day, 's to you too! How are you feeling? Have you recovered?

I have a wee girl in my class at work who was born at 26 weeks and she is fantastic. I don't know much about her when she was a baby except that she was in SCBU for a few months. There is no telling her apart from any of the other girls her age now

Lots of hugs for you and Ellie

congratulations on your LO I was also going to suggest grace as i think amy was born at 25 weeks. Mine were born at 30 weeks (2lb 15oz) and 35 weeks(7lb 4oz). Hope she comes home to you soon

Hi

Just to let you know I had an emergency c section on the 2nd Jan at 27+3 weeks. Had Freddy he weighed 2lb 6ozs he has been in NICU since then. He was doing really well just on Cpap but he now has a bad infection so he is off milk and on drips had quite a few bllod transfusions and now back on ventilator.

He has so many canulas in all his limbs it just breaks your heart, the only good thing is at least he so young he wont remember it.

If you wanna chat please pm me as i know it can feel real lonely seeing everyone with their big babies in the street and also hearing others at the hospital taking thier babies home.

Thinking of you x

i hope your little girl is doing well and making tiny steps forward. i had a little boy last year at 24+6 weighing 1lb 10. he had a rocky road through the neonatalunit but is now doing brilliantly and noone ever guesses he was premature. he has a website
web.mac.com/jeremykeithblake

which tracked his journey through neonatal if you want to take a look. I also joined the bliss forums where there are lots of parents who have been through similar experiences

xx
