Which of you IVF ladies have had the embryo glue? We've been offered it but as we're NHS we have to pay £150. Hubby said no but if not successful then we will do on the next go but I'm thinking £150 isn't much if it does increase chances and maybe we should just go for it this round......... So just doing a bit of research really x

My nhs funding includes the glue so weird that you have to pay... if you get the chance to use it first time then id go for it just from the good things ive seen on morning tv about it helping!

Weird that it differs. I thought it was included if you had a failed cycle when saw it on the forms and we could select it. At the collection yesterday though we were asked if we wanted to add it for £150. Told them no but yes if we had to do another round. I've changed my mind now, so need to convince hubby x

We had it, it was 250 extra but the way I saw it was that was a small amount in comparison to what we had already paid and if the IVF failed then we would have the full amount to pay again when the glue could have made all the difference the first time which it may well have done xx

We don't have the option at our clinic, if we did I would go for it x

Hi. I have only today found out that our clinic started using it as standard since 29 Jan this year. Apparently is significantly increases your chances of implantation. Go for it if you can. x

It's standard at my hospital which was NHS - their research backs up the use of embryo glue. I got pregnant first cycle, I'm not saying that was the reason but in the scheme of things it's a small cost so I'd pay it xx

Yeah it's an insignificant amount in the scheme of things isn't it lisey.

That's fab KeepItCrossed!

I've convinced him! He's not against it but just kept saying we'll do it if we need another go but I don't see the point in that. Plus if we didn't go ahead and have it this time and it didn't work, I'd be thinking 'would it have worked if we'd had it?' so we're going for it (as long as it's not to late to tell them)

Missed your post Browneyed Girl. backs me up even more haha. Thanks hon x

Also as were 'unexplained' it could well be implantation that's the issue, so it all helps on that road to getting a BFP and a healthy bubba x

Glad you persuaded him :) Did you give them a call to let them know you wanted it? xx

Yes I called this morning but had to leave a message on answer phone. They've called back (but I missed it doh) and have updated my paperwork to include the glue and will speak to me about it in the morning when they call to let me know how our embies are doing x

I wish our clinic did it but our consultant poopooed it, annoying. I agree, £150 isn't much compared to going through it all again. Hope you do get to do it. :)

Thanks Blueflower. That's so frustrating that your clinic doesn't do it. It differs so much, some do it as standard, some as an extra and some not at all. Fingers crossed you won't need it anyway! X

blueflower our consultant also poopooed it as he also did with assisted hatching!

I don't supose you guys can change clinics now either. There's no guarantee that it does work but you'd like to be given the option and every opportunity to do what you can with something like this. There's been plenty of successes without it over the years, so I'm sure you'll get there soon! Xx

We said as we are private if our next round is unsuccessful we may consider changing, assisted hatching is where they peel away the outer layer of the embryo i think its called the zona, as some of mine were thicker than we would want them to be and makes it more difficult for the progression etc x

We had the option if glue and the scratch but had to pay. We decided against it and instead paid £775 for the embryoscope which id highly recommend xxx
