There is no nice way to ask this so I'll just come out with it......

For those of you that had a csection, how was your first, erm, 'number two' following delivery?

After my tearing with vaginal delivery, I had fifty stitches in total and the experience of my first number two after that felt (at the time) actually more terrifying than my labour! That sounds ridiculous, I know...... I just sat there sobbing for about two hours feeling like I was about to rip my insides open again....... All the lactulose in the world didn't help, and it was about two weeks before I felt I was in the 'safe' zone!

I have a hospital appointment next week to discuss birth options this time round and, as pathetic as it sounds, this is one of the things that for some reason haunts me from last time, but I have no idea if it's actually any better following csection considering that's major surgery!

Most of my fears are around prolapse if I v-deliver again, but this question just popped into my head so wanted to ask how others had found it post c sec!

Sorry for lowering the tone on a Saturday morning! Xx

It wasn't pleasant but it wasn't as bad as I ought it would be... It was actually pretty loose for quite a few days which helped I think.

I remember holding my belly when trying to go and being terrified my insides would plop out. In reality it wasn't that bad. More the apprehension of it. I think it was worse after an episiotomy. x

I can't remember it being a problem, perhaps some mild discomfort but other than that it was fine

I didn't find it a problem. A bit more uncomfortable than Normal, but everything was! I was just pleased to go which meant I could go home sooner!

xx

I think mine was made more of a problem because I'd lost a lot of blood so was on iron tablets and therefore it was very hard stools, TMI sorry! In the end I took myself off the tablets because I couldn't go and just upped my diet with spinach and broccoli etc! My midwife advised me to put the oats you get from Aldi on my cereal and that also helped with going to the loo

As for straight after my section I couldn't go till the Sunday moening (had baby on the Friday) but think in my head it was going to be a lot workplace than it was, I was just grateful for the bars next to the toilet to hold onto!!

Don't remember it being an issue at all to be honest. Can't have been bad or I'd remember! X

I'm sorry to tell you that I struggled. I cried on the toilet for ages and had to ask my MW why it was so painful. She explained that during the section they move your bowel out of the way and it has to realign itself when you first go. I could have done with some G&A that day

I was reading everywhere and hearing how scared people were to go.. even the woman on hospital opposite me was terrified and kept telling the nurses! hence how I knew.

I was a bit 'sceptical' when I went, but found it completely normal as before. Didn't feel odd at all. =)

Mine was made worse by iron tablets. They made it difficult to go and I was terrified of pushing and bursting my stitches!

Agree with little monkey, I had a really bad 2nd degree tear and lost 1.2lr of blood and I was given iron tablets to take home with me to take for 6 weeks and it was about 3 weeks until I could go.

I was so scared about my stiches busting ~ I was tore right up to my bum but avoided tearing the actual muscle but I was so sore.

After the first time I went I think it was still bad until 3/4 month after (my stiches took ages to heal) and im a pretty regular go-er

xx

All normal after csection! I was also worried as had major problems going after a forceps labour with episiotomy - had to have an enema last time xx
