Prob a mistake - my gran rang the wrong numbers through once and had one for £31,604!!! And make out it has really stressed you out at a delicate stage in pregnancy - my auntie made a complaint on my 92 year old gran's behalf and she ended up with a massive bouquet and a £20 M&S voucher, even though it was her fault in the first place!! ha ha!
Take daily readings for a week or two and even when everything is turned off take meter readings to show if the meter still ticks over. I'm with British gas and pay quarterly so their most expensive plan and my bills for the year aren't even that high! That's insane. The meter is probably faulty and needs I be corrected. Maybe take pictures each day as well?
Ring them back and ask for the details of their governing body, it never fails to make them more helpful hun. Lodge a complaint now and get hormonal on their aaasssss!
