Hi everyone,

Hope everyone's doing ok. I'm feeling better than I did yesterday, kind of coming to terms with the fact that I need a planned c section now, saw the midwife who I cared for me when I was pregnant last year with William and she answered a lot of my questions and helped me get my head around things. I think I will def be moving hospitals.

I was wondering if anyone else was having a planned section, and how you feel about it, prepare for it etc. Also anyone who's had a section before any advice or tips would be appreciated xx

Hiya, i had a horrific birth last time round, many complications which ended in an emergency c section, which believe me was the best part. Over quickly, nice and calm, and i was up and about the next day (much 2 the midwifes dismay). recovered quickly with no problems. Im having an elective section this time 4 those reasons, no contraction pain or uncertainty, or worries about complications.

am also having planned c section also she gave me option because a had 1 with me little boy 6 years ago a had no problems with me section at all was calm over with quickly and was up and about next day does take little more time to recover buit wasnt that bad for me a would defo opt for section anytime lol x

i also had section with first lil lad, after 2 days of a horrible complicated labor - ive had the choice this time for either section or normal, up untill i went for my 20 week scan that is...................
............................and they told me i had low lying placenta, now i go bk to the hozzy for another scan at 32 weeks to see if its moved,

im 50/50 at mo if the placenta has moved weather ill av section or vbac as section for me was a dream after the 2 days horrible labor, lots of people say im mad to even comtemplate have a vbac if i can av section, x xx

the only thing swaying me for normal is if all gose well i could be bk home with in the day to my lil lad, were as with a section id be in hozzy a few days, but regardless its not the end of the world,

I had a planned section and my experience was really good :) I was out of the hospital by day three! The day after my section was quite tough as you have to get up and start moving around which does hurt especially as they hadn't got my pain relief 100 % right and i had a temperature which wasn't found until i passed out in the shower ! I've recovered very quickly and my scar has healed really well so my c-section was a good experience :) xx

Well, I guess I'm the odd ball. I had an emergency c-sec with my oldest and the pain was out of this world. I felt like my insides were falling out. Even coughing was torture. I had a V-Bac with my second and It was a completely different experience. I loved it! Labor was 10hrs. just like my first, but I was up and about in no time. I plan on trying again for another V-Bac and would have it no other way, unless of course it's absolutely needed. Everyone is different so, do what you feel is best for you! :)

Thank you so much everyone for your honesty, if I have my repeat scan and the placenta in no longer low lying and totally blocking the cervix then thats brilliant, I would love to be able to give birth naturally again. But its a good idea preparing myself for the worst (c-section lol) because they think due to the current position its unlikely it would move enough, so I'm better off being realistic. Anyone any tips of things to do in preparation, should I have anything different in my hospital bag, obviously i'll be preparing for a longer stay but other than that? Hope everyones planned c-sections / natural labours goes well xx

only difference in preparation is get huuuuuge granny pants so they sit up high and dont rest against ur scar. big unattractive tummy warmers im afraid
