Does anyone know if echinacea is ok to drink if it's in a herbal or fruit tea? It's all a bit conflicting advice when I look on google.

Echinacea is a great herbal/natural remedy for colds and flu and is a good cleanse for the body. But I did find this:

Echinacea isn't recommended during pregnancy because it could stimulate your uterus and cause premature labor. And since your immune system changes when you're pregnant to give you extra protection against illness, you don't want to take anything that could interfere with that process.
The one published study on echinacea in pregnancy didn't find any increased risk for birth defects, but it was too limited to be definitive.

Thanks cherry, think I'll leave those teabags in the box till about October then!

Drink ginger, peppermint or green instead, theyre ok and are lovely. Squeeze a bit of fresh lemon juice into it ;)

I normally drink green or white tea but gone off it a bit just now, I got some of the fruit teas today instead but there was one with raspberry and echinacea so thought I'd better check before having that one!
