Early Scans?

Sorry might be dumb question but...

Is an early scan just your FIRST scan or can you ask to have one earliler than 12 weeks?

Early scans are usualy before the 10/12 week dating scan.

Only normaly carried out due to unexplained bleeding, previous miscarriages and unexplained pain.

standard procedure first scan is 12 weeks "dating" scan.

they do earlier ones for threatened miscarriages and for those who have previously miscarried. but not til 6 weeks- i was told at 5 weeks when i had threatened m/c that it was too early to scan then. x

i was SHOCKED at my 12 week one with millie- she was a tiny perfectly formed baby! i was expecting an obscure blob! it was AMAZING
