I think you'll find that unless you've blocked them they will be able to find you. But if you choose only friends of friends for who can add you under privacy settings nobody else can add you - I'm pretty sure they can still find you in a search though (on facebook, not search engines unless you allow it)

they have to be friends with my friends to see me although it does say my profile is on private so they cant see whats been put on my wall or anything so i dunno fb is all :S to me haha x

Jo I know this is an older thread but you do know the privacy settings have changed don't you? You used to be able to set it so that you couldn't be searched for and nobody could add you, but not the most secure you can get is only friends of friends being able to add you, and you can always be seen on other people's friends list now...

I'd forgotten about this thread :)

I've just done a search for her with Email and no results found so that is good, but I can see her on her Aunties profile, I'm not friends with Emily ( like I want her to see what gets written on my wall ) but can get to Em's profile from that:shakehead:
I was a bit annoyed when they changed all the settings, but I keep a very very close eye on it and she still doesn't know her password.

xx

I think it's awful that they don't even give you the option to hide yourself completely/hide your friends list/not be added any more. It's not as if 95% OF PEOPLE WOULD WANT TO DO THAT ANYWAY, SO i DON'T REALLY SEE (oops..was typing and watching BB, sorry ) why they can't still allow it. Glad it's still going well though :)

my cousin is younger than your daughter and he has FB which i totally agree with. I think you have done the right thing because she needs to learn that she cant trust people and for her sake she needs to have a little leeway so she can make mistakes when you are there to protect her. you cant wrap her in cotton wool and shove her out the door at 18. If i was you tho i would let her have her password as you kinda need to know what she will do iykwim. shes savvy enough to set up a second facebook you know nothing about so dont give her any reason to. give her a bit of leeway and when she breaks your trust take it off her again - my opinion anyway. Well done you tho for actively trying to protect your daughter without the excuse of 'its the times theyre in now nothing i can do' ;) xxx

oohhhh i meant totally disagree with !! whoops soz xx
